OmniCable is a premier redistributor of wire and cable, electrical products and value-added services across the USA and Canada.
Founded in 1977, the company employs almost 900 people. This case study highlights OmniCable’s initiative to optimize its analytics environment across data models, refresh logic and reporting, increase usage and adoption, and enhance day-to-day decision-making through an embedded partnership between Kery Solutions and OmniCable’s Data Analytics team.
OmniCable is a highly transactional organization with access to large volumes of data and an established analytics foundation.
As the company continued to grow, it became clear that actionable insights would play a critical role in supporting operational and strategic decision-making. While reports were already in place, many lacked modern design features, were built on legacy data models with slow refresh times and were used inconsistently across teams. Leadership also had limited visibility into how often reports were being used, which insights were informing decisions, and where gaps in adoption remained. With strong fundamentals already in place, OmniCable was well positioned to optimize its data analytic reporting by strengthening underlying data structures, improve usage and adoption, and better align analytics with day-to-day operational workflows.

As the organization continued to perform strongly, leadership recognized this as the right moment to modernize and optimize data analytics, increase adoption across teams, and scale analytics on a more robust foundation to support sustained growth.


By taking an embedded approach, Kery Solutions partnered closely with OmniCable to understand the nuances of its business and analytics needs.
The engagement focused on three core areas: optimizing data analysis reports, driving usage and adoption, and aligning analytics with operational decision-making. Kery worked alongside OmniCable’s Data Analytics team to strengthen data models and refresh performance, modernize report design, and create a more intuitive user experience across the company. Frequent working sessions with stakeholders and tight feedback loops, supported by an Agile Project Management Method, allowed teams to provide input early and continuously, ensuring reports evolved in line with real operational needs. In parallel, Kery implemented a usage and adoption framework that gave OmniCable clear visibility into how tools like Power BI were being used, which teams were engaging with reports, and where additional enablement was required. Following the launch of a well-governed production environment in September 2024, platform usage increased steadily and meaningfully. Most importantly, leadership gained real-time insight into how analytics supported day-to-day decisions, enabling more informed action across sales, operations, and finance. While the tools provided visibility, it was OmniCable’s active engagement and willingness to partner with Kery Solutions that enabled the data and analytics team to excel.
